Ketarin: A Free update program that downloads setup executables automatically
Description: Let’s say that you have a colleague that doesn’t have internet connection at home, but you have. The colleague installs all manner of freeware no help him in his PC work, so he asks you to burn him latest updates of these programs and he would give you, say $100 every month for helping him. There are a lot of freeware updates programs available on the internet, like the FileHippo update checker which uses Filehippo’s software database and gives you update links. Some programs even can automatically download and install these updates for you when your PC is idle. But Ketarin is different.
Ketarin just automatically downloads the installers into a specified folder defined when adding the application. However there is a large con, which is that you have to manually add programs to the updates list instead of Ketarin scanning for available updates. However, I think there is a point in this. Some users only need specific updates so they would add those to the update’s list, and also every program on the planet (including portable ones) can be updated since the download links are user-defined, in contrary to FileHippo Update Checker since you cannot add programs to the list except those successfully scanned by the porgram. Ketarin scans for new versions on the URLs and will download when updates (even alpha and beta).

Verdict: This is a nice program if you want to user-define all updates and not install them automatically, like in the example at the top of this article. Otherwise, as most users need, try FileHippo Update Checker.
