OSDMute notifies PC users when in Mute

Description: Sometimes, you suddenly found that the computer lost it’s voice and you try to find the problem. It takes you some time to remember that you muted it an hour ago to do something. Windows does not by default provide good notification when the PC is muted, except that a message is shown for two seconds after you mute the PC. OSDMute solves the problem by displaying a worded notification that is translucent and never disappears when the computer is muted. Here are more notes on this program.

• Lite version. Having “Full” and “Lite” doesn’t mean that there’s a paid version. Both versions are free, the difference is that in full version you can customize the font, location and size of the notification.
• There is a system tray icon that does not hide itself.
• Other shortcut keys: WIN-M to mute, WIN-Q to close/exit OSDMute. *WIN is the key with Windows logo on it, usually somewhere between the ALT and CTRL keys.
• Memory consumption. About 5 megs, which is very small considering the RAM amounts PCs have today.
• Double click on the downloaded exe to run. Full version generates two other files for the settings. To run automatically at startup, save it in a folder somewhere, and use Starter to add the .exe file.
• One side note… The icon in the system tray sucks. However this would not matter to most people.

Verdict: Works perfectly. Another reason Bill Gates sucks because he didn’t make Windows the OS it should be! Hopefully, Windows 7 or later versions can include this function be default.
