How to Promote Your Blog – Part 3

2009 September 6

It’s time for the third post in the series! This time, I’m going to teach you an ingenious way that I discovered a few months ago.

Submit your blog to BlogSurfer.us!

BlogSurfer is a blog channel surfer that jumps between blogs that fall within a certain category. The reader can choose which category of blogs he reads. The reader stops at each blog for around 10 seconds for a quick glimpse, and he can choose to click on a link to visit that blog in a new browser window or tab.

You can submit your blog to BlogSurfer.us, which will put your blog on the blogRoll. Once your blog is in the BlogRoll, the reader number increases by above 6 times. If you post about BlogSurfer, you’ll get another double time in exposure to other bloggers and readers.

BlogSurfer submit your blog

To submit your blog, click on “Add Your Blog…” at the top-right corner, and enter your information. The email address is optional, so you don’t have to fill that in. On the next box, fill in your blog’s root directory (for me it’s http://freewareelite.wordpress.com), and select a channel in the drop down menu. Click submit to complete the process. No confirmation is required, your blog is now in the BlogSurfer blogroll!

Another way to gain traffic on BlogSurfer is to participate in the Forum discussions, which you can add your blog’s link to your posts. The is more effective than posting about BlogSurfer.

Anyway, BlogSurfer is a good idea. IF you visit blogs on the blogroll, they’ll visit you back. You can also bookmark your favourite blogs on BlogSurfer via a cookie. Anything you expect from a blog reader will be there. It’s such a good service that you shouldn’t miss it if you’re trying to increase blog traffic.

Remember to submit your blog every 6 hours or so to keep your blog in the BlogRoll!

This concludes Part 3 of the Blog Promotion series. The next in the series will appear sometime next week, so stay tuned!
